Hitler rug

The work is by Israeli artist Boaz Arad who says he is hoping to show how the Holocaust has scarred Israel, but also been misused by it.

He says the rug is a representation of what a Nazi hunter would do if he caught the ultimate prize, the Nazi leader.

Secret Swastika

Charles Manson is probably the most famous person around with a swastika tattoo visible on their person, let alone their forhead. More on Uncle Charlie later.

So be good for goodness sake!

Santa has had enough malarkey for one year. The Hitler caricature doesn't really make sense to me, is he a windbag? He seems to just be weirdly formless. Eiher way, an old ad from Interwoven Socks.

How We Celebrate Christmas by Wilhelm Beilstein

From the excellent German Propaganda Archive.

Background: The Nazis put significant efforts into de-Christianizing Christmas, focusing instead on the winter solstice. This 1939 article is from a Nazi educational monthly for the Frankfurt area. The war had been in progress for four months. The entire issue was devoted to Christmas.

How We Celebrate Christmas
by Wilhelm Beilstein

Christmas is to us Germans the most lovely and meaningful season of the year. From it, we gather inner strength and power from the eternal life force of our nature. Mother and child, family and kin are at its center. It is not limited to a day that swiftly passes, but rather it encompasses a long period of preparation and many mythic beings and customs. Despite many foreign influences, over the course of centuries it has remained an ancient German holiday, and its nature can only be understood within the territory of our people. Today, we have once again come to know the true meaning of our Christmas customs and traditions, freeing them from foreign names and influences (see the article in N.S.-Brief of December 1938). The following remarks will provide ideas and direction for organizing Christmas and Advent festivities.

Deutsche Kriegsweihnacht

Hitler looking at a Christmas tree. The facing page has these words from Goebbels's 1941 Christmas Eve speech: "On this evening we will think of the Führer, who is also everywhere present this evening wherever Germans gather, and place ourselves in the service of the fatherland. At the end of the war, it shall be greater, lovelier, and more impressive. It should be the proud and free homeland for us all. We promise the Führer that in this hour he can rely on his people at the front, at home, and in the world. He leads us. We follow him. Without the shadow of a doubt, we follow him, bearing the flag and the Reich. The flag and the Reich shall remain pure and unscathed when the great hour of victory comes."

From Deutsche Kriegsweihnacht

Background: During the war years, the Culture Department of the Reichspropagandaleitung of the Nazi Party, its central propaganda office, produced a book of material each Christmas for those both at home and at the front. It appeared in large editions from 1941-1944. This edition has 200 pages of stories, letters, songs, and illustrations. There is no hint whatsoever of the Christian nature of the holiday, made somewhat easier by the German word for Christmas: Weihnacht. The material presents a picture of German soldiers standing bravely at the front, while their confident wives and children rest secure at home, ready to make any sacrifice for final victory.

All this from the excellent German Propaganda Archive.

Secret Swastika

In Buddhism, the swastika signifies auspiciousness and good fortune as well as the Buddha's footprints and the Buddha's heart. The swastika is said to contain the whole mind of the Buddha and can often be found imprinted on the chest, feet or palms of Buddha images. It is also the first of the 65 auspicious symbols on the footprint of the Buddha.

I couldn't help but connect Buddha's footprints with these Aryan Wear boots with swastikas & ss bolts on the soles. Pretty awesome boots, but the anti-social subculture they are connected to kind of kill the whole excitement for me.

Hitler's In the Charts Again - The Exploited

Hilariously, the Exploited are seen as the kind of Punk that gives Punk a "bad name". I thought the whole point was to "be bad" in a cartoony, rock & roll styling. Anyhow, great tune, it might actually be about the Sparks.

(someone named) Hitler in the news

Holland Township family angry that supermarket won't personalize cake for their son

JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell, Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell and Adolf Hitler Campbell. Good names for a trio of toddlers? Heath and Deborah Campbell think so. The Holland Township couple has picked those names and the oldest child, Adolf Hitler Campbell, turns 3 today.

This has given rise to a problem, because the ShopRite supermarket in Greenwich Township has refused to make a cake for young Adolf's birthday.

"We believe the request ... to inscribe a birthday wish to Adolf Hitler is inappropriate," said Karen Meleta, a ShopRite spokeswoman. The Campbells turned down the market's offer to make a cake with enough room for them to write their own inscription and can't understand what all of the fuss is about.

"ShopRite can't even make a cake for a 3-year-old," said Deborah Campbell, 25, who is Heath's wife of three years and the mother of the children. "That's sad." Others, such as Anti-Defamation League director Barry Morrison, applauded Shop Rite's decision.

"Might as well put a sign around their (the children's) neck that says bigot, racist, hatemonger," said Morrison. "What's the difference?"

Education For Death

A Disney Anti-Nazi cartoon from 1943. I love the cartoonized Wagner in there. In fact, this whole thing is gold. For kids like me who grew up watching these cartoons not in the context of the war effort, i was kind of confused about the obsession with Hitler & the Nazis, to the point of thinking that Hitler had been an American president! This blog is definitely a product of that phenomenon, Hitler as a pop cultural subject.

(not so) secret swastika

Swastika, Ontario, Canada. Incorporated in 1908.

During World War II, the provincial government sought to change the town's name to Winston, in honour of Winston Churchill, but the town refused, insisting that the town had held the name long before the Nazis co-opted the symbol. Residents of Swastika used to tell the story of how the Ontario Department of Highways would erect new signs on the roads at the edge of the town. At night the residents would tear these signs down and put up their own signs proclaiming the town to be "Swastika".

Secret Swastika: Punk

The Electric Eels are credited by some as being the first Punk band to use the swastika in their promotional ephemera. This flier is the place where it all happened. True? Relevant? Who cares? Punk isn't & wasn't the first time rebels, thugs or idiots wore swastikas, why i think it all started with the Nazis, but you know what? It didn't start there either.

I like this bit.
"Oversocialized leftists have long argued against negation as a tool to change the world: “Sure, you’re disrupting things,” they say, “but what’s your program?” The punk program *was* disruption. Punk codified the art of “not-niceness.” Artist Arturo Vega painted day-glo swastikas that decorated the Ramones’ apartment. He considered the paintings, “a closet Nazi detector,” exposing those who most loudly objected as repressing their own authoritarian tendencies (“I always thought that to conquer evil,” he says, “you have to make love to it”)." ~Al Giordano

Hitler In The News: U.S. cops recover Hitler bookmark stolen in Spain

News Flash from Jason McKay.
U.S. cops recover Hitler bookmark stolen in Spain
PHOENIX (Reuters) – U.S. police recovered a stolen bookmark once reportedly given to Adolf Hitler by his mistress Eva Braun and arrested a man in a sting operation, authorities said on Wednesday. The Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency said officers arrested Christian Popescu, 37, outside a coffee shop in Bellevue, Washington, on November 25, as he allegedly attempted to sell the 18-carat gold bookmark to undercover agents. The bookmark was reportedly given as a present to Hitler by his long-term mistress in 1943 to console the German dictator after the German defeat at the hands of Soviet troops in the Battle of Stalingrad, ICE said in a news release. It was among several items that had been due to be sold off by an auction house in Madrid, Spain, in October 2002, which were stolen by thieves.
Popescu made an initial appearance in court on Wednesday, charged with sale or receipt of stolen goods. He faces up to ten years in jail and a $250,000 fine if convicted. (Reporting by Tim Gaynor, editing by Todd Eastham)

Hitler Silenced

For a period in the 1920's, Hitler was forbidden to address public meetings in much of Germany, which was a major blow to the Nazi propaganda apparatus. This poster, by cartoonist Philipp Rupprecht (most known for his cartoons for Julius Streicher's Der Stürmer) is captioned: He alone of two billion people on earth may not speak in Germany." From the German Propaganda Archive. (great site)

Secret Swastika

A small, left-facing swastika was painted on the inside of the nosecone of the Spirit of St. Louis along with the names of all the Ryan Aircraft Co. employees who designed and built it. It was meant as a message of good luck prior to Lindbergh's solo Atlantic crossing as the symbol was often used as a popular good luck charm with early aviators and others.

Hitler in the Comics: Jack Chick Tract

From "Love the Jewish People" published by Jack Chick. I read this Chick comic a LONG time ago & like most of his comics, it had the opposite effect of its more obvious intention on me. The story says that if you're good to the Jews you'll be blessed & if you're bad to the Jews you'll be cursed. Having since experimented with this in my lab, i can tell you it's not true. If you're not familiar with Jack Chick tracts, go order yourself 25 for $3.75! A steal! And check this out! You can now embed Jack Chick tracts wherever you please! The FUTURE!

Published: 19 Nov 2008 in the Sun

AN extraordinary account from a German army medic has finally confirmed what the world long suspected: Hitler only had one ball. War veteran Johan Jambor made the revelation to a priest in the 1960s, who wrote it down. The priest’s document has now come to light – 23 years after Johan’s death. The war tyrant’s medical condition has been mocked for years in a British song. The lyrics are: “Hitler has only got one ball, the other is in the Albert Hall. His mother, the dirty b****r, cut it off when he was small.’ Until now there has never been complete proof Hitler was monorchic – the medical term for having one testicle. But the document tells how Johan saw the proof with his own eyes. In the account, he relives the horror of serving as an army medic in World War I. He died aged 94 in 1985, but had told his secret to priest Franciszek Pawlar, who kept a note of their conversation. Johan’s friend Blassius Hanczuch confirmed the priest’s account of how the medic saved Hitler’s life. He said: “In 1916 they had their hardest fight in the Battle of the Somme. “For several hours, Johan and his friends picked up injured soldiers. He remembers Hitler. “They called him the ‘Screamer’. He was very noisy. Hitler was screaming ‘help, help’. “His abdomen and legs were all in blood. Hitler was injured in the abdomen and lost one testicle. His first question to the doctor was: ‘Will I be able to have children?’.” Blassius said that when the Nazis swept to power Johan began to suffer nightmares and blame himself for saving Hitler. Hitler’s genitals have long caused controversy. Some historians dismissed the “one ball” song as propaganda. But an alleged Soviet autopsy on Hitler backed it up. Records show Hitler did suffer a groin injury in the Somme. It is the first time an interview with anyone who treated Hitler during WWI has come to light. Dr Martin Farr, senior lecturer at Newcastle University School of Historical Studies, said last night: “This genuinely new twist is fascinating.”

Secret Swastika

In 1925 Coca Cola made a lucky watch fob in the shape of a swastika with the slogan, "Drink Coca Cola five cents in bottles." At that time, the Swastika was still a symbol of 'Good Luck'. The watch fob is approximately 4cm x 4cm in size and is made of brass.

Secret Swastika

Lotta Svärd was a Finnish voluntary auxiliary paramilitary organisation for women founded in 1918 & operating until 1944.

The blue swastika was the good luck symbol used by the Swedish Count Erich von Rosen, who donated the first plane to the Finnish White Army during the Civil War in Finland. It has no connection to the Nazi use of the swastika. It also still appears in many Finnish medals and decorations. In the very respected wartime medals of honor it was a visible element, first drafted by Axel Gallen-Kallela 1918-1919. Mannerheim cross with a swastika is the Finnish equivalent of Victoria Cross, Croix de Guerre and Congressional Medal of Honor. Due to Finland's alliance with Nazi Germany in World War II, the symbol was abandoned as a national marking, to be replaced by a roundel.

Secret Swastika

The swastika is a symbol so old, pretty much every culture has used it at some point or another. From neolithic Druids to Hindu elephant riders to Roman Rabbis to Coca-Cola. Then Hitler came & did his thing & now swastika=Hitler=bad. The swastika DOES have a hypnotic effect on the observer, but can a symbol be evil?

"I like comic books and anything with swastikas on it." ~Dee Dee Ramone

Hut Weber advertises that the only difference between Hitler & Charlie Chaplin might be one of their fine hats. You're No Hitler!

The NO 2 ID campaign in England likened Tony Blair to Hitler in this 2006 ad against England's rapid growth of the database state, of which "ID cards" are the most visible part. Tony Blair is no Hitler, however, the Nazis did champion very intense databasing & organization of their society (using IBM designed machines) not unlike the current nanny states cancerously growing in Western countries.

You're No Hitler!

It is surprisingly difficult to find a Cheney as Hitler picture on the internet. Most of the Cheney-is-evil mashup images feature him as the devil, Cthulu, or Emperor Palpatine. Which, if you think about it, means popular opinion is that Cheney is more evil than Hitler.
